Beta

Bake with Bench Notes before it launches

Bench Notes is in testing on Google Play. Testers get the app free, and your feedback shapes what comes next. Never baked before? You’re welcome too: the app walks you through every step. It takes about two minutes.

  1. Join the tester group

Open the group, tap Sign in at the top right if you aren’t signed in, then tap Join group. Use the Google account that’s on your Android phone. Other members can’t see your email, and only Bench Notes can post, so you’ll just get the occasional tester update.

    Open the tester group
  2. Become a tester

Then open the testing page and tap Become a tester. If it says App not available, testing hasn’t opened yet or you joined the group a moment ago. Stay in the group: we’ll post there as soon as the app is ready to install.

    Open the testing page
  3. Install from Google Play

Tap Download it on Google Play on the testing page, or use the button below on your phone. It installs like any other app, and updates arrive automatically.

A few things to try in your first week

Please keep the app installed for at least two weeks. Google needs testers to stay with an app for 14 days before it can launch for everyone. Everyone who tests during early access becomes a founding baker, with Pro free for good.

Questions

Does it cost anything?

No. The beta is free, and so is the app at launch. Pro will be an optional upgrade, and testers who join during early access keep it free for good.

I have an iPhone. Can I join?

Not yet. Bench Notes is Android only for now. Follow @benchnotesapp for news.

What happens to my bakes after the beta?

They stay. When Bench Notes launches, your tester copy simply updates to the public version, and your data stays on your phone.
